About

I founded applyChina to help international students navigate the process of applying to universities in Mainland China with greater clarity and confidence.

My academic journey in China began when I moved to Shanghai to study at New York University Shanghai, where I completed my undergraduate degree. After graduating, I continued my studies at Peking University’s Yenching Academy, completing a master’s degree focused on economics and China studies.

I received full scholarships for both my undergraduate and graduate studies in China, giving me first-hand experience of the opportunities Chinese universities offer international students.

Alongside my degree programmes, I pursued intensive Chinese language study through the Princeton in Beijing programme at Beijing Normal University, and later spent time studying in South Korea at Seoul National University.

Professional Experience

Professionally, I have worked in university admissions at Peking University and Yale-NUS College in Singapore, gaining direct insight into how universities evaluate applicants and select candidates. My broader professional experience also includes research and consulting roles, including work with the World Bank and in due diligence consulting.
